Last year we sent to the authorities suggestions and proposals<\/a> to make of <\/span>the Law of integrity whistleblowers<\/b> a legal framework as firm as possible, which would guarantee their protection. <\/span><\/p>\n

We believe that whistleblowers are a fundamental link in maintaining ethical and integrity work, both in institutions and in any other professional environment. So, this month, on August 28, we are organizing together with the Recorder and the expert Codru Vrabie<\/a> an introductory workshop on whistleblowers. <\/span>Participants will learn about the legislation that currently protects them and will be presented with concrete examples of collaboration between whistleblowers and the media \/ NGOs. <\/span><\/p>\n

  1. How you, as an NGO or journalist, can facilitate the activity of whistleblowers and how to collaborate with them safely.<\/li>
  2. National legislation and European regulations protecting whistleblowers<\/li>
  3. The direct and indirect impact that whistleblowers have, presented through real events and concrete examples of good practice<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    About the trainers:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Alex Nedea<\/strong> is an investigative journalist at Recorder, the most important digital journalism portal in Romania. Recorder is a mogul-free publication, owned by journalists and 100% funded by a community of thousands of readers. With tens of millions of views on YouTube alone, Alex Nedea's investigations have brought about important changes in Romanian society in recent years: laws have been changed, criminal cases have been opened and important politicians have been dismissed. With 20 years of experience in the field, Alex Nedea has worked in almost all forms of journalism that the mass media represent: print, radio, television and online journalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Codru Vrabie<\/strong> is an activist, trainer and consultant in the field of good governance, with concerns regarding anti-corruption reforms in justice and administration. Since 1998, Codru has been working in civil society in Romania, being successively affiliated with various local, national and international organizations; since 2006, he also works with similar organizations in the Republic of Moldova. In 2004, Codru was part of the team that drafted the text of Law 571 on the protection of whistleblowers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
